Nearly a decade after NPR’s Serial captivated audiences, helped release accused murderer Adnan Syed from prison and revolutionized podcasting, a new, gripping series has emerged, ready to forever change the world of true crime series as we know them – enter “Who shat on the floor at my wedding?”
The premise of the show is fairly simple: Back in 2018, an unknown scofflaw went where only Bridesmaids before had, taking a massive shit during Helen Mclaughlin and Karen Whitehouse’s wedding. Two years after the incident, the brides with help from podcast producer/ armchair detective Lauren Kilby have reopened this caper, launching a full-fledged investigation that not only rocked but stank up the couple’s boat-based nuptials, sharing their findings in a multiple-part podcast.

Despite first hitting Spotify back in late 2020, “Who shat on the floor at my wedding” has recently emerged as Twitter’s latest podcast obsession, with audiences flocking to uncover the identity of the poopy perp.
I need to tell you all about the podcast I’ve discovered called ‘Who Shat on the Floor at my Wedding’. Which is a 12-part investigation into literally exactly that; 2 women on a mission to discover which friend/ family member shat on the floor at their wedding

“I need to tell you all about the podcast I’ve discovered called ‘Who Shat on the Floor at my Wedding,’” comedian @shesgonestella wrote on Sunday, July 2. “Which is a 12-part investigation into literally exactly that; 2 women on a mission to discover which friend/ family member shat on the floor at their wedding.”
Amassing more than 77,000 likes in its first day on Twitter, several already heeded @shesgonestella’s advice, detailing their newfound obsession with the gripping (or should we say clenching?) series.

I started listening to that today! I feel that 12 episodes is going to be major overkill but also that is part of the joke that we can enjoy,” Twitter user @FishMcFace commented on the post.
“I’ve been listening to this all weekend and can’t get over the commitment to production and story!!!!!” added @schickles, while others shared screenshots depicting them subscribing to the show.

To paraphrase the brides, the listeners and likely even the person who took the poop themselves, “Holy shit.”
